The Saturday episode began with Amit and Sudesh with the song Ek Chatura Naar Kar Ke Shrungaar from Padosan – a song that marked the talent of both Manna Dey and Kishore. Kavita Kaushik posed as Saira in the movie Padosan, who is caught between the two singers who are crazy about her – Mehmood and Sunil Dutt (who is given a playback by our own Kishoreda!).

After a quick recap of the Friday’s evening performances, the Jhumroo team arrived to contest. The Friday episode had three contestants having a sweeping score of 30 with an exception of Suhas who got a low score of 19. The entertainment continued with more fun and comical skits coming up from the reigning Tv stars of the television world.

Apurva, the first to step on the stage from Jhumroo side, along with Rajesh Kumar and a VIP came up with the song from the Great hit of 1958 Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi – Hum Thi Woh Thi.. – Even to this day, the car lies in the premises of Gauri Kunj. Apurva wore an overall of a car mechanic to bring in the atmosphere of this fun song. Apurva returned to his seat with a score of 25.

Milind Ingle the next contestant (the Tata Indicom Challenger) who almost left the competition in the previous week’s elimination round, was accompanied by Roopa Ganguly and Rajesh Kumar. Dressed to suit the song Hum Bolega To Bologe Ke Bolta Hai from Kasauti. Milind scored a good score of 27. Sudesh announced the score with the same accent as in the song, in his usual jovial manner!

Arnab was the last participant to come on the stage today. He sang the number Surma Mera Nirala from the movie ‘Kabhi Andhera Kabhi Ujala’. He was accompanied by the beautiful Kavita Kaushik. Arnab was clad in a Red Pathani suit. His performance was impressive and he got the high score of 30. The criteria for judgment of elimination this week depended on taking an average of 50% of judged score and 50% of audience score. Before the fateful annoucement was to be made, all the participants came on to the stage to sing, Tune Abhi Dekha Nahin from the movie ‘Do Aur Do Paanch’.

As time ticked by, the crucial moment arrived and the two contestants in the danger zone were Suhas and Apurva. As was the tradition, each were given an individual song to sing. Sudesh Bhonsle chose Pyaar Humhe Kis mod Pe Le Aaya from the movie ‘Satte Pe Satta’. Suhas, who is the youngest and most adored contestant showed all signs of nervousness and marred his performance. Apurva was under control and he managed to escape the elimiation.. Suhas left the show with the note that it was just another milestone in his musical journey towards success. The episode ended with gloom but hope for more entertaining performance from the newer contestants.
