Ek Main Aur Ek Tu (Duet) Love is one of the most beautiful feelings on earth. What can bring in more joy than the duets sung by a melodious couple? Today the show was bent on discovering this feeling and celebrating love. The show started with the beautiful Rajeswari and Babul Surpiyo. They made the best out of the number ‘Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’. Rajeswari was shining out in a pink dress, reliving the Retro. Babul had put on a checked trouser, typically, looking like a 1980s actor.

Babul and Rajeshwari – Ek Mein Aur Ek Tu
It was clear from the beginning the duets that have made histories of success will bring in most of the fun. The first performer to come on stage was one of the judges’ favorites, Jhumroo Sameer Memon. He came accompanied by the most successful female Indian Idol 2007’s contestant Ankita Mishra. She had showed such attitude and style in Indian Idol that the judges could only think of her as someone who has the killing spirit. This pair of singer, with a huge gap in age, sang the comic love song from the movie ‘Chalti Kaa Naam Gadi’. This was the movie which saw all the three talented brothers’ act, complimenting each other. The song goes like this, ‘Paanch Rupaiya Baarah Aana’. The song was made unforgettable by Kishore Kumar and Madhubala. The song created the memories refreshed again in the minds of the judges and the audience. Both Sameer and Ankita were clad in the typical retro style with huge wigs. Bappi, Sudesh and Amit Kumar, all the three judges poured their praises for this unlikely couple. Sameer managed to get a difficult 8 from Amit Kuamr, and his over all score was 26. No wonder Sameer is closer to Kishore Kumar in style and shows how wonderful can one age with the spirit still remaining young.

Sameer Memon, Ankita Mishra – Main Sitaron Ka Tarana
Jhumroo Apurva was the next participant to come on the stage with another Indian Idol finalist, Prajakta Sukhre. They enchanted everyone with the sensuous number from the movie ‘Julie’, ‘Bhool Gaya Sab Kuch’. This song has been a favorite of both young and old alike. Rajesh Roshan’s music has since created many foot tapping tunes but this one still is singularly popular. Apurva, who had won lot of praise from the judges during the 5th episode that it was inevitable for him to be again, compared with that performance. And, when comparison happens the outcome is either good or bad. But the judges commented that even on his not able to stand up to the mark, tried to judge him neutrally. Prajakta tried to compliment Apurva but they still could not create the magic. However, he managed to bag 20 points from the judges.

Apurva, Prajakta Shukre – Bhulgaya Sab Kuch
The next pair to come on stage was Arnab, from the Jhumroo team. He sang the ultimate love song, ‘Gum Hai Kisike Pyaar Mein’ from the movie, ‘Rampur Ka Laxmam’ with Pooja, another hot favorite form the Indian Idol competition, 2008. The song was picturized on Randhir Kapoor and Rekha. Amit found the zeal to be not sufficient in the song. Again the dilemma of comparing Arnab’s singing talent that was exhibited in the previous episode. He managed to receive a total of 22. Bappi Da found Arnab’s voice still having the charm, but he suggested him to refine it further.

Arnab, Puja Chatterji – Gum Hai Kisi Ke Pyar Mein
Arnab was followed by Jhumroo Vinod Seshadri, who came along with another Indian Idol participant, Aditi Paul. They sang the number ‘Piya Piya Piya Mera Jiya Pukare’. The song reminded Amit Kumar of the incident his father, who made a smart use of a small mistake of Asha Bhonsle and the song charmed everyone. Amit also told Kishore’s using KBN for ‘Koi Baat Nahin’ usually. Listening to all this, one can never stop thinking about the brilliance of the person who had immense talent yet was so down to earth and so much fun loving. It was a surprise indeed for Vinod to have received 26 from the ever so strict judging panel. He even got a new compliment from Amit Kumar, who wanted to use something new for him. He found Vinod’s performance to be ‘Scrumptious’. Bappi found himself lost in the past again.

Vinod Seshari, Aditi Paul – Piya Piya Piya
The last participant to come on the stage was preceded by Bela, one of the few female singers in India, who used to go to every concert the legendary singer did. When Bela came to the stage, she definitely brought in the charm of the past in the form of pictures taken during various concerts.

Welcoming Bela Saluke
The Tata Indicom challenger who got an entry to the stage was Milind Ingle. He sang the song ‘Inteha Ho Gayi, Intezaar Ki’ with Bela and was praised by all the judges. The song from the movie ‘Sharabi’ was picturized on a drunk Amitabh Bachchan. Milind did the right justice to the song. Bela was complimented on her performance. However, as a rule, the first performance was out of the scoring rule, which will be applicable on Milind from the next episode onwards.

Milind Ingle, Bela Sulake – Intehan Hogayi Intazaar Ki
Then a medley was brought to the stage as all the participants came to the stage pair by pair sing one or the other love songs by Kishore Kumar. While Vinod and Aditi sang ‘Oh Saathi Chal’ from ‘Seeta Aur Geeta’, Sameer and Ankita came up with ‘Ankhon Mein Kya Ji’. Similarly, Apurva and Prajakta sang ‘Jannne Jaan, Dhundhta Phir Raha’ and Arnab and Pooja sang ‘Bachke Rehana Re Baba’ with full enthusiasm and vigor.
