On the occasion of Kishoreda’s 23rd death anniversary, an unheard song of the legendary singer, ‘Ladkiyon ko chahiye woh college mein seekhlein…’, will be released on the official website of the legendary music director, Madan Mohan.
Says Sanjeev Kohli, son of Madan Mohan, who has in the past compiled the very best gems of all legendary singers – “These songs came from the 20-odd ones I stumbled upon after my father’s death. I put out 15 of my favourites on a CD that I released through Yash Raj Music last year. Of the eight-nine remaining songs, two were put online on Mohd Rafi’s birthday on July 31. I’ve finished with Lataji and Kishoreda’s songs but about three-four of Ashaji’s still remain. I’m looking to release them in December or January 2011 on an appropriate occasions.’”
Some of these songs, like ‘Ladkiyon ko chahiye…’ are not in his father’s usual style, Kohli points out. Yet, they are cherished by his fans. He reasons, “They are rare gems and a reminder of the combined talents of a great singer and a versatile music director.”

Regarding the above song ‘Ladkiyon ko chahiye woh college mein seekhlein…’, if my memory doesn’t betray me, is from the film ‘Ladka Ladki’ where Guru starred against yesteryears’ famous actress Mumtaz. The movie was directed by Krishan Panju an AVM fame. Correct me if I am wrong.

One unreleased song composed by Madan Mohan “Aaj Mujhe Jal Jane Bhi Do” for Kishore Da is marvelous. Infact it is totally different from the usual Kishore Da style of singing.
